COVID-19

Miss Adela Tapia’s Childcare safely reopened on September 8, 2020.

Please read below our updated protocols and environment changes to ensure the safety of our community.

Environment Changes

We have removed carpets, pillows, and any materials that can’t be sanitized throughout the day. Each child has their own sensory/art material bins with crayons, markers, paintbrushes, play-doh, scissors, glue, stickers, etc. They use their own bins throughout the day rather than sharing materials.

Health Check & Screenings

Upon arrival: children are dropped off downstairs to minimize contact, their outdoor shoes are immediately taken off to be placed by the entrance doorway, children get their temperatures taken and health check which are both recorded, they get their hands washed, all before entering the environment. Indoor shoes are worn all day. Parents are not permitted in the environment at this time, however we communicate via text throughout the day. Families, children, assistants and Miss Adela get tested monthly for COVID-19.

Mask Wearing

Miss Adela Tapia and assistants must wear face coverings at all times when interacting with children and when within 6 feet from other assistants and Miss Adela. All children over the age of 2 must wear a mask at all times, with the exceptions of eating, drinking, and naps in order to protect Miss Adela, her family, and assistants. Children are required to bring their own masks, however, we have back up disposable masks.

Cleaning

Miss Adela and her assistants disinfect constantly throughout the day and log this information on a cleaning chart. Once toys are used they are placed in a “dirty toy bin” which is disinfected with  soap and water, then sanitized after use. Miss Adela has a deep cleaning of the environment with EPA approved disinfectants at the end of each day of the environment.

Head provider & Assisants

Miss Adela and her assistants have the same group of children. Miss Adela and assistants still form warm relationships with the children. All the teachers and assistants are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  We at Miss Adela Tapia’s Childcare value close connections whether that means allowing children to sit on an assistant’s lap, or giving a hug when a child is sad (with masks on).

Ventilation

Miss Adela Tapia’s  windows are always open in the environment and an air purifier is left on to circulate the air throughout the day.

Outdoor Play

Children go outside on a daily basis. They will only interact with their fellow children and stay separated from outside children.

Nap time

Children have their own mat that are sanitized after each use. Infants have their own cribs that are also wiped down after every use. Each child brings in their own nap sheet that are sent home every week to be washed.

When a family enrolls, they are given the COVID-19 Health Policy.

Travel Restrictions & Quarantine
